My bunny died overnight. She had started bleeding and was rushed into surgery yesterday morning to fix some major internal bleeding she had (as a result of not ever spaying her... it's not an uncommon complication that rabbits have). She had made it through the surgery but didn't make it through the night. I feel super guilty for letting her die all by herself in the vet's office overnight. There was no way for me to have known that she was getting sick because rabbits will act completely normal when they're sick. Yesterday morning, she was still happily jumping and doing kicks in the air. Now, she's left at the vet's for cremation and disposal because I can't afford to take her ashes home after the surgery costs. I feel like I've abandoned her again.

I hadn't been able to pick her up since she was a baby because she always ran away. Now, I was able to hold her little lifeless body wrapped in a towel.

She was the spunkiest and feistiest little bunny. I hope she's doing lots of bunny binkies in heaven.

Rest in peace, Bunny.

I don't mean to bother, but I wanted to just stop by and say how sorry I am. I too know how it feels to loose a bunny friend. The only thing Im sure of, is that they are all up there probably having the time of their life.

take care.

:(  Your bunny is the cutest little thing.  You are the reason why she does her binkies.

I lost a rabbit a few years ago.  It's true, rabbits like to hide their pain.  A lot of times we find out when it's too late.  All we can do is rely on a vet make them feel better.  I was in the room when my rabbit passed.  It was not easy to wrap his stiff body in my arms.  I completely  understand how you're feeling right now.

Hey, was randomly checking old bookmarks and your blog and just read the bad news. :( I'm really sorry. Hope you're doing OK. Your bunny was lucky to have someone as caring as you.

You said She got internal bleedig from NOT spaying her, I dont agree with that %100, but I have aslo seen things that have never happen happen. I have 13 rabbits and counting none of my rabbits are spayed or nutered, they range in ages from just born and the oldest one I have is a 5 1/2 years old female, netherland dwarf. I think your Rabbit most likely picked up a disease like Raccoon Virus spread by cats, birds, dogs, rodents etc, or ate somthing that was posioins.Hope this help you understand my thinking,

Sorry for you loss, I Just lost my 8 year old netherland dwarf Buck,Whiplash, I had him sence he was first born and i will miss him every day when i go and look at the rabbits in the barn, and look at his sons and doughters. Where abouts do you live I got a friend who breed loinheads, she has many diffrent colors, full or half maned.
